Seen a Harbour porpoise underwater? Unfortunately not. High on my wish list! Above water, yes; we often see them during the excursions of the Strandwerkgroep Waterweg-Noord. Actually always too far away. The chance that you will encounter one underwater in the Oosterschelde and be able to take a nice photo of it is very small. I did photograph its prey, such as the
Eelpout, the
Whiting, the Black Goby and the
Common cuttlefish. My photos of these are now in the book about this cetacean.
I didn't know what was on his menu, but I can now find out anything and everything about the Harbour porpoise by reading this book. You too and I wish you a lot of reading
and viewing pleasure, because there are many special photos in the book by Frank Zanderink and Nynke Osinga. For sale at
Noordboek Publishers, among others.
